KATHMANDU: Twenty-two-year-old Kul Bahadur Shahi, a resident of Jumla, Baira-3, has recently completed his 216 days walk for peace in the country.
Shahi, after travelling all the 14 zones and 75 districts of the country, had arrived Kathmandu from Jumla on August 5.
Though his mission to disseminate message of peace and security in the country was highly applauded, he said, only few people actually supported him during his journey.
“Except for Govinda Risal, Chief District Office of Jagarkot, Kiran Thapa of Taplegunj, Federation of Nepali Journalist-Taplegunj and Okhaldhunga District Development Committee, nobody helped me during my race,” he lamented.
Shahi said, “I set out for this journey for the peace and prosperity of the nation in the aftermath of the decade-long armed insurgency.”
Stating his poor financial standing, he urged the Kathmandu denizens to help him to pay for his lodging.
