KATHMANDU: Recently retired Patan Appellate Court judge Devendra Raj Sharma today moved the Supreme Court challenging his retirement given by the Judicial Council (JC). He said the JC had given him retirement nine months earlier. As per the provision, an Appellate Court judge is supposed to retire after he attains the age of 63. Saying that nine more months were left before he reached the age of 63, he urged the apex court to scrap the JC’s decision. The JC chairman who is the chief justice, the secretary and civil personnel records department have been made defendants in the case.
