KATHMANDU: Imagine Travel of Belgium and Shashi’s Holiday organised a FAM trip for ten journalists and media persons from Belgium to Nepal. Keeping in mind Nepal Tourism Year, the organisers arranged a seven-day trip for these media people who visited tourist sites such as Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel and Chitwan.
“The country is beautiful but much needs to be done as far as first impressions go, Kathmandu as a city does not serve as a good first impression when tourists arrive and the government needs to make it better,” said Frans Vandeputte, Editor of Belgian newspaper De Standard .
Adding that Nepal could be put at par with Switzerland as a tourist destination as long as they improve the condition of the capital. The seven-day FAM trip concluded today. Shashi’s Holidays International Travel and Tours Pvt Ltd was founded twenty-seven years ago in Kathmandu. The company focuses on European tourist markets with in Belgium.
“We had a fabulous trip and will definitely recommend it to fellow tourists in Belgium. The culture and tradition in Nepal is very vast and deep. We had a good time and look forward to many more such visits,” said Rosenfeld Veronique, sales and marketing manager for Imagine Travel, Belgium. Nepal has remained a popular destination in Belgium in the past while in recent years, the arrival of Belgian nationals to Nepal has declined due to lack of publicity.
