1 killed, 2 injured in assorted road accidents in Capital

KATHMANDU: One person died and two others were critically injured in separate road accidents in the Capital on Thursday.

One person died and another sustained critical injuries after a bus hit a scooter they were riding on at Gaushala in the Capital on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as pillion rider Laxmi Gautam (50) and injured as biker Arjun Gautam (55) of Sinamangal.

The bus (Na 3 Kha 9062) heading towards Singamangal from Mitrapark hit the scooter (Ba 10 Pa 4886) en route to the same direction at around 3:45pm yesterday.

Laxmi breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) in Sinamangal at around 6 am today.

Police said that Arjun is receiving treatment at the same hospital.

Police said that they have impounded the bus and arrested its driver for investigation.

Similarly, a cyclist was critically injured after being hit by a motorcycle at Maharajgunj of the Capital on Thursday.

The injured has been identified as Suk Bahadur Gurung (28) of Dharmapani-7, Tanahun and currently living at Kalikasthan.

The incident occurred at around 10 pm yesterday

He is undergoing treatment at the Bir Hospital.

Police said that they have impounded the two-wheeler and arrested its rider for investigation.
