2 arrested with contraband pharmaceutical drugs

KATHMANDU: Police said that they have arrested two persons in possession of illegal pharmaceutical drugs from Nagdhunga check point in Chandragiri Municipality-2 of Kathmandu today.

The arrested have been identified as Anjan Thapa (32) of Pepsicola in KMC and Binay BK (32) of Jorpati.

A team deployed from Nagdhunga Metropolitan Police Sector arrested duo after confiscating illegal contraband drugs from their possession while frisking a bus (Na 5 Kha) heading towards Kathmandu from Birgunj in Parsa district.

The security personnel seized 44 ampoules of Diazepam and Phenergan each, 47 ampoules of Nurphine and 11 tablets of Nitrazepam hidden in a bag they possessed, said police.

Meanwhile, the duo have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Range, Thankot, for further investigation and necessary action.
