30 new Sajha Yatayat buses to ply on Kathmandu roads from Sept

KATHMANDU: The 30 buses that the Sajha Yatayat is bringing with Rs 100 million share investment of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) will arrive in Kathmandu by the first week of September.

KMC spokesman Gyanendra Karki said Indian company Ashok Leyland shall deliver the buses within the first week of September as per an agreement signed in April between the Sajha Yatayat and the company.

The new buses will have 80 seats and be disabled-friendly, the Sajha said.

There will be automatic door, CCTV and television facilities in the bus.

The Sajha Yatayat will have a fleet of 46 buses with the new addition.

Meanwhile, a team has left for Mumbai to the bus assembling plant of Ashok Leyland to observe the buses being assembled there.
