Dolakha man robbed of 4 kg yarsagumba by persons who said were cops

KATHMANDU: A man has been reportedly robbed of four kg yarsagumba that he possessed from Samakhusi in the Capital on Thursday.

According to a complaint lodged with police, Lal Bahadur Shrestha (43) of Makhu-7, Dolakha who was staying in the upper floor of Royal Restaurant, owned by one Rajan Khadka, in Samakhusi to sell the prized herb was robbed by a group of five to six unidentified persons yesterday.

Preliminary investigation revealed that some unidentified persons barged into the room posing themselves as police personnel and whisked away with yarsagumba, also known as Himalayan Viagra.

Based on information that one of the robbers had used a bike bearing the registration number Ba 32 Pa 4591, a police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Gongabu arrested Dhan Bahadur Tamang (33) of Ghyalchok-4, Gorkha for his alleged involvement in the robbery. Tamang is said to be currently residing at a rented room in Thankot.

Police said they have started a manhunt to nab other suspects.
