7 held with drugs

KATHMANDU: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested two persons in possession of controlled drugs from Teku of the Capital on Wednesday.

The suspects have been identified as Mansoor Hussain (57) of Kshetrapati, KMC-17 and Mosin Khan (32) of Chabahil, KMC-7.

The NCB confiscated 220 ampoules of brufen and diazepam each from Hussain whereas 20 ampoules of brufen, diazepam and stagan each were seized from Khan.

Similarly, police have nabbed five persons for trading 32 grams of brown sugar, from different places of Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday.

They have been identified as Suraj Lama (32), Suraj maharjan (32),

Bibek Maharjan (19), Jitendra Pariyar (17) and Anuradha Dhital (23).

Lama was arrested from Kalanki with two grams of brown heroin and Rs 20,050.  When asked about the confiscated drug, he admitted his and Maharjan's involvement in it, said police.

Police then nabbed the other three persons who were also involved in smuggling of the drugs. Police also raided Lama's rented room where they seized 30 grams of brown heroin, Rs 11,500 and a motorbike (Ba 55 Pa 6754) which was registered in the name of Dhital.

Further investigation is underway.
