Absconding bank forgery suspect held

KATHMANDU: A man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a bank forgery case, from Kageshwori Manahara of Kathmandu, on Saturday.

Asaraj Khanal (34), a permanent resident of Janakinagar-8 in Sarlahi district, was arrested by a team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division.

The then acting assistant officer at micro-finance desk of Muktinath Development Bank Limited in Dulegaunda of Tanahun, Khanal had forged documents to prove that he had invested in the Bank, police claimed.

He then received Rs 3.65 million from the Bank before running away, according to police.

The suspect has been sent to the Belchautara Area Police Post in Tanahun for further investigation and action.
