KATHMANDU: Police said they arrested a drug possession convict, who was on the run following the conviction, from Bafal of Kathmandu recently.

A special team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau nabbed Prabesh Baral (25) from Bafal, KMC-13 on Wednesday.

He was slapped with a five-year imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine by the Bara District Court after he was arrested with 14 gram brown heroin from Pipara Simara-9 of Bara, on October 14, 2008.

Police said he was hiding himself in various places of Kathmandu since the conviction.

Meanwhile, police presented the convict before the Kathmandu District Court to execute the sentence.

The Court subsequently sent him to the Central Jail, Sundhara.
