4 parties discuss next statute steps, dialogues with disgruntled groups

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, UCPN-Maoist and Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic held discussions on the constitution drafting process and addressing the demands of disgruntled parties, today.

The four major parties held a meeting at the Prime Minister's official Residence in Baluwatar to discuss the issues after the parties held bilateral talks among them.

Earlier, the leaders of UCPN-Maoist and UML had met to discuss the issues.

The meeting held at residence of the UCPN-Maoist Vice-Chair Narayan Kaji Shretha agreed to forward the constitution drafting process after the time allocated to file amendment proposals to the Revised Bill of Nepal's Constitution end.

Following the meeting, UML Vice-chairman Bhim Rawal informed that the meeting discussed continuing the constitution drafting process and holding dialogues with disgruntled parties simultaneously.

He added that the dialogues would be centred by keeping the people's rights and national unity at the centre.

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Vice-Chair Rawal from UML's side and Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior leader Baburam Bhattarai and Vice-Chair Shrestha from UCPN-Maoist side were present in the meeting.

Earlier, the Maoist leaders Dahal and Bhattarai had met PM Sushil Koirala to discuss the issues.
