All-party meet tells PM to solve internal issues before India visit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday organised an all-party meeting to consult political parties represented in the Parliament seeking suggestions for his upcoming India visit.

It has been learned that the leaders suggested the Prime Minister to resolve current political tensions before embarking on the visit.

Oli is scheduled to leave for India on February 9 on his maiden foreign visit since assuming the office in October last year.

Likewise, the Prime Minister was also urged to not to sign any agreement against national interests.

According to PM's press advisor Pramod Dahal, a meeting of major three parties held before the all-party meet also decided to form a political mechanism to sign a deal with the agitating Madhesi parties.

Earlier, task forces of the major three parties - Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist - and the United Democratic Madhesi Front had agreed to form a mechanism to settle the differences over demarcation of provinces.
