Alleged serial thieves land in police net

KATHMANDU:  Police have busted a gang of serial thieves and arrested three suspects in possession of stolen valuables from different places of the Capital.

According to the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD), the suspects have been identified as Subas Pokharel (21) from Sunaul Bazaar of Dhading, Arjun Nepali (18) from Jyamrung-4, Dhading and Dipak Gajurel (17) from Jiling -9, Nuwakot.

The trio are currently residing in Naya Bazaar of the Capital.

According to the MPCD, they  had broke into Basundhara-based Family Foodland Hotel, Chettrapati-based Shree Tourism Cooperative, Kamalpokhari-based Ilam Credit and Cooperative, Maitidevi-based Omkar Group of Company, Gairidhara-based Anurma Saving and Credit Cooperative, Samakhusi-based Hamro Bhargav Saving and Credit Cooperative, Nayabazaar-based Madhu Shree Saving and Credit Cooperative and Thahiti-based Great Wall Tours and Travels so far.

All the places were unattended when the incidents occurred.

Police said that they confiscated Nepali and Indian currencies, three two-wheelers, three Samsung mobile sets, three cameras, a knife, two laptops along with their charger, various gold and silver ornaments and a watch among others worth Rs 945,105 from their possession.

The suspects have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu for further investigation.
