Bhaktapur industrial fair concludes with transactions around Rs 80mln

BHAKTAPUR: The fourth Bhaktapur Industrial, Cultural, Tourism and Trade Fair concluded on Wednesday, here in Sallaghari, with total transaction touching Rs 80 million.

According to Industrial Peace Nepal Chairman, Sandeep Mahat, more than 200,000 visitors came to the fair which took place from April 6 to 18.

The fair offered more than 200 stalls that presented daily consumables, local and national food items, clothes, shoes, agro products, handicraft, crockery and tourism. The stalls also exhibited automobiles and electronic gadgets of wide ranging brands, informed Deepak Thapa, coordinator of the fair.

The event was organised by Industrial Peace Nepal and Madhyapur Boys Band. Along with the various stalls, the fair also had children's park, Ferris wheel, circus, magic house and a ghost house. It also featured Tarai's famous wrestling (kusti) match and a national dance competition.

Jyoti Magar, Pramod Kharel, Radhika Hamal, Badri Pangeni, Gloomy Guys, Kamal Khatri, Komal Oli, Baikuntha Mahat and Kamal Chhetri among others preformed at the fair.

Attending the closing ceremony, Mayor Basudev Thapa of Surya Binayak Municipality, stated that this kind of events are likely to benefit the locals of Bhaktapur.
