Bibeksheel Party on EUEOM's report and SC's directive

KATHMANDU: In two different press releases issued by Bibeksheel Sajha Party, today, they have disclosed their takes on the European Union Election Observation Mission (EUEOM)'s final report on the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections, and Supreme Court's directive order to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) and other concerned bodies to ensure the external voting rights of Nepali migrant workers.

Supporting the reservations expressed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Election Commission (EC) regarding EUEOM's report, the party has condemned the controversial comments made by the EUEOM in their report on the Nepal elections, and the involvement of foreign entities in national affairs.

Meanwhile, the party has welcomed Supreme Court's directive order to the OPMCM, MoFA and EC to ensure the external voting rights of Nepali migrant workers, at a time when a large portion of Nepali youth are working abroad and the national economy is boosted by remittance. The statement reads that this step taken by the apex court is certainly appreciable from a democratic point of view but more so from natural justice perspective.
