CIAA files case against Nayab Subba for bribery

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Tuesday filed a charge sheet at the Special Court against a non-gazetted government official for taking bribe.

Dipak Kumar Karki, a Nayab Subba at the Kathmandu District Public Prosecutor’s Office, was caught red-handed while taking Rs 20,000 as kickback on the pretext of settling a forgery case against one, Kumar Gole.

The CIAA said its investigation showed that the accused had collected the amount from Gole's friend Yuwaraj Tamang.

Gole was in the custody the Metropolitan Police Circle, Singha Darbar, on the charge of forgery of the government seal and signature.

The anti-graft constitutional body has sought maximum punishment against Karki as per the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.
