Conmen found forging government documents for human trafficking

KATHMANDU: Police on Friday arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in a human trafficking bid by misusing government documents, seals and signatures.

The Metropolitan Crime Division of Nepal Police said the suspects used to cheat economically deprived women with assurances of lucrative jobs in the Gulf states.

The arrested are 32-year-old Sudarshan Khadka of Budhanilakantha Municipality-7 in Kathmandu, 35-year-old Jeevan Jimi Rai of Hasposa VDC-2 in Sunsari district and 22-year-old Krishna Wagle of Kageshwori Manahara-7 in Kathmandu.

They were arrested from various places of Kathmandu Valley.

Police had swung into action after receiving a complaint from a victim, who suspected them of human trafficking.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had provided a fake marriage certificate to the victim with assuring her of a United Arab Emirates visa.

Meanwhile, police said the suspects have been sent to the Kathmandu Metropolitan Range for further investigation and action.
