'Conspiracy was being plotted to murder left alliance candidates'

BHAKTAPUR: CPN-UML chair and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli has said that some forces were plotting conspiracies to murder the left alliance candidates, after panicking over from the rising popularity of the alliance.

Speaking at a programme organised to merge Naya Shakti Patrty local committee to the UML at Lokanthali in Bhaktapur district on Tuesday, chair Oli suspected the government's alleged connection in this regard as only left alliance candidates were being targeted.

He also expressed concern over the alleged arbitrary distribution of Rs 230 million to the ruling party cadres from the state coffer and explosion of bombs targeting the left leaders and cadres. "Is there any connection between these two", he queried.

Leader Oli also blamed the government of sheer violation of the election code of conduct.

On the occasion, about 1,900 cadres from different parties joined the UML.
