Control anti-poll activities: PM

Kathmandu, November 20

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today directed all security agencies to control anti-election activities.

Addressing a meeting of the Central Security Committee and regional security meeting here in Kathmandu, PM Deuba directed all security agencies to work in a coordinated manner.

Top officials of all security agencies — Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department and officials of district security committees of all districts of Province 3 were present in the meeting presided over by Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Mohan Krishna Sapkota.

According to MoHA Spokesperson, Narayan Prasad Sharma, the PM also directed the officials concerned  to ensure an environment that will enable every voter to cast their ballot in a free and fair manner. He said the meeting reviewed the peace and security situation in Province 3 and overall security across the country. The meeting also decided to further strengthen security measures.
