Disgruntled forces plan joint protest in capital

Kathmandu, November 26

Madhesi and Janajati forces, and Baburam Bhattarai led Campaign for Building New Force held a meeting today to discuss their joint agitation in the capital.

According to Om Gurung, spokesperson for Padma Ratna Tuladhar-led Indigenous Nationalities’ National Movement, the three forces decided to hold an interaction in Kathmandu in the next 2-3 days to discuss the form of their planned protest.

Gurung said the Madhesi and Janajati forces, and the Bhattarai led campaign felt the need to organise protest in the capital because the government was not serious about solving the Tarai unrest. “The government is trying to give a false impression to the public by terming the agitating Madhesi and Tharu forces’ obstruction on the border as an act of India.

The government is doing this to divert people’s attention,” Gurung said.
