Dr KC continues fast-unto-death at TUTH

KATHMANDU: Nepal's senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC, who was flown by Nepal Army personnel to Kathmandu from Jumla earlier today, has continued his hunger strike at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

Earlier, Dr Govinda KC was taken to the Nepal Army barrack in Jumla from where he was airlifted to Surkhet and later to Tundikhel in Kathmandu.

Local people had gathered at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences to obstruct the security personnel from taking Dr KC to the barracks. The doctor had agreed to come to the capital after a clash between locals and security personnel turned violent injuring scores of people including a police constable.
