Dr KC joins sit-in protest at Kanchanpur demanding #JusticeForNirmala

KATHMANDU: Medical activist and senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC reached Kanchanpur today and joined the sit-in protests being held there in an attempt to pressurise the government to identify and book the perpetrator(s) behind Nirmala Pant's rape and murder.

The sit-in being staged in front of the District Administration Office was launched on November 11.

On Monday, Dr KC had organised a press conference issuing three demands, one of them being immediate identification and arrest of the culprit(s) responsible for the 13-year-old girl's rape and murder. He has given the government a three-week ultimatum to meet his demands, failing which he would initiate fresh hunger-strike, his 16th, from December 18.

Dr KC will leave for Bajhang district tomorrow to conduct a health camp, according to a message shared by his aide Dr Abhishek Raj Singh.

The crusader was recently hospitalised at the TU Teaching Hospital on experiencing some chest-related issues and was discharged upon recovery.
