Duo held with 481 gram undeclared gold from TIA

KATHMANDU: Police on Friday arrested two persons in possession of undeclared gold, weighing 481 gram in total, from the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Pratap Gurung (30), a permanent resident of Panchakanya-3 of Sunsari district, was arrested with three gold bangles, weighing 150 gram, from the car parking area of the nation's only international airport, police said.

In another case, Chhiring Gurung (36) from Chhanot-1 of Mustang district was arrested in possession of 331 gram undeclared gold.

He was about to board a Nepal Airlines flight to New Delhi while police held him.

Police handed over the gold and gold jewellery to the TIA Customs Office for further investigation.
