Ensure smooth delivery of services during festivals, CIAA tells govt

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority today directed the government to ensure smooth delivery of services during festivals.

The CIAA summoned government secretaries and representatives from different consumer-based organisations and instructed them to take all possible measures to ensure smooth delivery of services.

CIAA Chief Deep Basnyat urged the bodies concerned to remain alert and ensure peace and security, and food supply. It also urged the authorities concerned to conduct market monitoring regularly during the festivals.

Basnyat also stressed on proper management of public vehicles. “There are public complaints that the same ticket has been sold to many passengers, so respond to their complaint immediately,” he instructed government officials.

Commissioners Dr Sabitri Thapa Gurung, Rajnarayan Pathak, Dr Ganesh Raj Joshi and Nabin Ghimire said government bodies should work in a coordinated manner to address public grievances.

Revenue Secretary Sishir Dhungana, Home Secretary Lok Darsan Regmi, Secretary Devendra Karki (Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport), Secretary Maheshwor Neupane (Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation), and Officiating Secretary Mukunda Poudel (Ministry of Supplies) were among those present in

the meeting.
