Exhibition held to raise fund for education

Kathmandu, September 7

In a bid to support young girls in their education, Rotary Club of Yala organised an exhibition of domestic products in Jawalakhel today.

Rotary Club, an organisation that brings together businessmen and other professionals in order to provide humanitarian service, had organised ‘Exhibition cum Sales of Domestic Commodities’ in order to collect the fund.

Service Project Director of RC, Yala, Deepak Kumar Shrestha said that a sum of Rs 300,000 collected from today’s event and contributed by the club members would be handed over to a school in Khokana.

“We extend our gratitude to all those helping hands that supported us in the project,” Shrestha said. The fund will be used to support young girls from the backward communities studying at Clark Himalayan Primary School at Khokana.

A total of 25 stalls of domestic products such as accessories, carved frames, handicraft, organic fruits like honey, pickles, seeds, garments were showcased at the exhibition. The exhibition was visited by hundreds of people, including members of RC Yala, RC Gongabu and RC Patan South also. Of the total amount collected from the sale of these products, 10 per cent has been allocated for scholarship.

A blood donation programme was  also organised at the exhibition site and 35 people donated blood.
