Floods wreck havoc in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police have rescued 70 people after the floodwater entered human settlement in Mulpani, Kageshwori Manahara Municipality-8 of Kathmandu on Tuesday.

They have been relocated to a safer place, police informed.

Around 50-60 houses have inundated at local Tiwari Tole due to heavy rainfall last night.

Similarly, around 100 houses on the bank of Bagmati River stretching from Sinamangal to Baneshwor have also been inundated.

Meanwhile, a 15-foot tall compound wall of the house belonging to Rishiram Neupane was damaged when the rainwater entered the Nilbarahi Tole of Thimi Municipality-3, Bhaktapur.

Around 20 houses were inundated there and 739 livestock of seven persons including Rajib Lama were killed in the incident.
