Former PM Nepal bats for unity government

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that a national consensus government should be formed with the participation of three major political parties.

Leader Nepal expressed this view while inaugurating the 10th conference of Palpa-Kathmandu Contact Forum of the party here today.

He said, "Unity among Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist is still important. The unity should be maintained for implementation of the new Constitution and until next elections.”

Referring to the ongoing agitation in the Madhes region, he said, "The new Constitution has given more rights to Madhesis, but they are so dissatisfied. I am confident that they will come to consensus."

Minister for Land Reforms and Management, Dal Bahadur Rana, parliamentarians Baijanath Chaudhary and Som Prasad Pandey, among others were also present on the occasion.
