Gold, laptops seized from Rupandehi man for customs evasion

KATHMANDU: Police said they arrested a man on the charge of evading customs while bringing five laptops and 199 gram gold to Nepal, from the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Hari Prasad Paudel, bearing the passport number 07963327, a permanent resident of Kamhariya-4 of Rautahat district, was arrested on Friday, the Nepal Police Headquarters informed today.

Police seized four gold bangles weighing 199 gram in total, two HP laptops and three Dell laptops from his possession.

Police said the seized goods were worth Rs 1.057 million in total.

Paudel had landed in Kathmandu from Dubai of the United Arab Emirates on a Fly Dubai flight (FZ 5577).

Meanwhile, the suspect has been sent to the TIA Customs Office for further investigation and action.
