Govt active to resolve problems of economic sector: FinMin Paudel

KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel said that the government was active to resolve the problems surfaced in country's economic sector due to unannounced border blockade imposed by India on Nepal.

At a programme organised here today on the occasion of 18th anniversary of the Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON), Minister Poudel said that the government was committed to resolve the problems of Tarai-Madhes through the medium of talks.

Reiterating that solution of the existing problems has been sought through dialogue and discussion, the Finance Minister said that he was hopeful that the problems surfaced in Nepal-India border areas would be solved soon.

He further said that the government was serious over the negative impact on country's economy due to the blockade.

On the occasion, Minister Paudel also released SEJON's annual publication 'Economic Policy'.

Similarly, Governor at the Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr Chiranjivi Nepal expressed concern over increasing unofficial economic activities in recent days.

Nepal further said that the RBB was serious not to let the inflation go beyond the control.

Likewise, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (FNCCI), Pashupati Murarka, said that people from Tarai-Madhes should carryout activities keeping the nation in centre to resolve the problem facing by overall industry sector.
