Govt toppled against Nepali people's will, says Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman and KP Sharma Oli stated that the recent government change was against the will of Nepali people.

Speaking at an interaction programme organised by the Press Chautari Nepal at the CPN-UML's central office, the former Prime Minister argued, "There was no definite economic or social reason for the change in government. Neither did it owe to the government's failure to work or maintain peace."

He further claimed that the change was unnatural and it would hamper the national integrity, welfare and holistic development of the nation.

Oli also added that it was a conspiracy to create and widen political and constitutional distances between and among the parties.

Oli stated that his party now would play the role of opposition effectively; but added that he saw a slim of chance about the incumbent government working positively.

On a different note, he also stated that the government's decision to nix the ambassadorial nominations was wrong.
