'High importance to relations with Nepal': Serbia

KATHMANDU: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic has said that Serbia attaches high importance to its relation with Nepal.

Speaking at a programme organised jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nepal Council of World Affairs here today, the visiting First Deputy Minister Dacic said bilateral relations between the two countries should be expanded in the field of trade, investment, tourism, education, cultural and technical sectors.

On the occasion, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ghanashyam Bhandari said both landlocked countries Nepal and Serbia have been presenting common views in the international and regional forums.

The operation of a WaiWai production plant in Serbia by the Chaudhary Group of Nepal has opened up door to trade expansion, he said while adding that business houses of the two countries should work to take benefit from the same.

Meanwhile, first DPM of Serbia Dacic, who arrived here Friday, is scheduled to meet with President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli separately during his stay in the capital, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
