House adjourned for 16 days

KATHMANDU: Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar on Sunday adjourned the Parliament till February 21 after the House sent two bills relating to bonus (Fifth Amendment) and federal emergency fund to the relevant House panels for clause-wise discussion.

The House has already passed bills relating to electoral rolls, the Election Commission, civic election and election offences and punishment. However, the bill relating to political parties is being discussed by the State Affairs Committee of the Parliament.

However, the bill relating to general, provincial assembly and national assembly elections and the bill relating to constituency delineation commission are yet to be drafted. “The House could have passed the bill relating to political parties and the government could have processed four election related bills,” Subas Nembang, deputy leader of CPN UML Parliamentary Party told THT.
