House adjourned till Friday

KATHMANDU: The meeting of Legislature-Parliament has been adjourned till 1 pm on Friday.

In today's meeting, the House endorsed condolence motions on the death of former lawmakers Nar Bahadur Thapa and Ram Charan Chaudhary and observed one minute silence to pay respect to them.

Earlier, Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang read out the letter from the Office of the President calling the parties in the Parliament to elect new Prime Minister and form Council of Ministers through consensus in seven days.

The seven-day deadline given on Friday for the election of new Prime Minister through consensus is ending on Thursday.

If the parties failed to choose consensual candidate for the prime ministerial berth then the President would initiate the process of election of the executive head of the government and formation of new government through majority.
