IGP Khanal leaves KTM to attend INTERPOL general assembly

KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Nepal Police Sarbendra Khanal left for Dubai, UAE to attend the 87th general assembly of the International Criminal Police Organisation or INTERPOL on Friday night.

IGP Khanal has been joined by DIGP at the Central Investigation Bureau Niraj Bahadur Shahi and Chief of Nepal Police Headquarters, INTERPOL unit chief SP Umesh Raj Joshi.

The assembly is taking place from November 18 to 21, according to Nepal Police Headquarters. Delegates from 192 countries are taking part in the general assembly which will see election of the INTERPOL chair and executive committee members and presentation of annual reports by the member states.

Resolutions are also scheduled to be tabled and discussed at the assembly on terrorism and investment in terrorist activities, cyber crime, human trafficking, as well as on the programme and budget of the organisation for 2019.
