Kathmandu, September 23

Inspector General of Police Sarbendra Khanal conferred insignia on three additional inspector generals amid a function organised in Nepal Police Headquarters, Naxal, today.

Those decorated with insignia of the post of AIG are Pushkar Karki, Thule Rai and Dhiru Basnyat. The Cabinet meeting had decided to promote them to AIGs from DIGs.

Speaking at the decoration ceremony, IGP Khanal directed them to perform their best. “Earning promotion to higher level always demands that you to contribute more and better to the organisation. Keep away from unnecessary acts from today itself,” he suggested. IGP Khanal also directed the cops to move forward by tackling challenges.

Karki will lead operations and crime investigation departments, Rai human resources and administration departments and Basnyat National Police Academy. Recently, the Cabinet reduced the postings of AIGs to three from 15 ‘to develop Nepal Police in line with the federal set-up’.
