Japan to provide more support to Nepal's education sector

KATHMANDU: Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Masashi Ogawa, has today paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, Gopalman Shrestha.

During the meeting held at Education Ministry at Singhadurbar, Japanese Ambassador Ogawa expressed commitment to provide further support for Nepal's education sector and in reconstruction of quake-damaged schools, said Joint-Spokesperson of the Ministry, Saraswoti Pokharel.

A total of 283 schools have been constructed so far with the support of Japanese government and some 500 schools are under construction.

Expressing gratitude to the Government of Japan for the support in the relief, resettlement and construction of school buildings, DPM Shrestha urged the Japanese government to create environment for Nepali students to learn and study about education development, technology and progress of Japan.
