Japanese delegation meets President Bhandari

KATHMANDU: A Japanese delegation -- led by Nashida Kazuya, the Director General of the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan -- called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the latter's office in Sheetal Niwas on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the President's Office, during the meeting the visitors discussed diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan, Japan's support to Nepal's developmental works and the post-earthquake reconstruction work, among other issues.

The Japanese Ambassador to Japan, Masashi Ogawa, had accompanied the Japanese delegation.

Meanwhile, the Japanese officials also called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa.

The Japanese officials were on a two-day official visit to Nepal. They took part in the Nepal-Japan political consultation mechanism.

The delegation returned home this afternoon.
