KMC provides traffic police 50 sets of wheel locks

Kathmandu, August 29

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has provided 50 sets of wheel locks to Metropolitan Traffic Police Division to curb haphazard parking of vehicles in Kathmandu.

The wheel locks were provided at a programme organised here on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the establishment of metropolitan police. Speaking at the programme, KMC Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya said metropolitan police had a huge role to play in helping KMC curb haphazard parking of vehicles and clearing footpaths.

Similarly, Deputy Mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi Shrestha lauded the role of the metropolitan police in making Kathmandu city beautiful and well-managed.

MTPD Chief Sarbendra Khanal spoke of the need to ease congestion on footpaths. He also said that the traffic police would work in collaboration with KMC to streamline public transport system in Kathmandu Valley.
