Kathmandu Valley's temperature drops to 0.8 degrees Celsius

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley has witnessed the coldest day of the year so far as the mercury dipped to 0.8 degrees Celsius today.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the minimum temperature of Kathmandu Valley was recorded at 1.1 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

Meteorologist Raju Pradhananga shared that the mercury will continue to drop for a few days. However, Pradhananga ruled out the possibility of Valley’s temperature going down below zero.

As per the weather update shared by the Department, the maximum temperature of Kathmandu Valley will stand at 16.6 degrees Celsius. Jumla district recorded the lowest temperature in the country today at -8.5 degrees Celsius while Biratnagar has recorded the highest minimum temperature of 8.2 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, cold has increased in all parts of the country. Thick fog has affected the day to day life of Tarai region.
