KMC demolishes 22 illegal structures on Bagmati riverbank

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) on Saturday pulled down buildings and structures constructed illegally on the bank of Bagmati River at Sahayoginagar in Baneshwor.

As a part of the illegal structures demolition drive initiated by the KMC and the Department of Roads, total 22 physical structures including two college buildings owned by VS Niketan and Pentagon, a Vihar and a restaurant were demolished today.

A dozer was carried out in the presence of a large number of security personals.

While some protested the move, some others pleaded with the authority concerned to give them some more time so that they themselves demolish the structures erected illegally.
