Leader Nepal urges PM Koirala to support UML Chair Oli for leadership of new govt

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has asked Prime Minister Sushil Koirala to support CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli for the leadership of the new government.

During a meeting with Prime Minister Koirala at the latter's official residence in Baluwatar today, the former Prime Minister said that it was indispensable to form the new government under the leadership of Oli for ending the existing problems, implementation of the new constitution and reconstruction after earthquake by following the previous agreements including the 16-point pact reached among the major political parties.

He said, "I discussed with the Prime Minister regarding giving leadership of the new government to the CPN-UML for ending the existing problems surfaced in the country, not only for the implementation of the new constitution."

Leader Nepal said that PM Koirala informed him that they were holding discussions with the party leaders regarding this and decision on the formation of new government was yet to be made.

Leader Nepal said that he was confident the Nepali Congress would help the country to head towards the path of development by collaborating with the UML and the UCPN-Maoist.
