Malaysia returnees held with undeclared gold, TV sets

KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday arrested nine persons including seven Malaysia returnees with possession of422 gram undeclared gold and seven 32-inch LED television sets.

The Malaysia returnees had brought the televisions and gold for Shoma Moktan from Ratnanagar-2 of Chitwan and Chandra Limbu (26) from Phagumba-8 of Taplejung.

Police also arrested Limbu and Tamang for receiving undeclared goods.

The returnees – Dhan Bahadur Thapa of Dang, Indra Tamang of Dang, Dil Bahadur Tamang of Dhankuta, Laxman Bohora of Salyan, Suraj Tamang of Lamjung, Ramji Nepali of Lamjung and Chij Kumar Karki of Gorkha - had arrived in Kathmandu via a Nepal Airlines flight.

Police are looking into the case.
