‘Manage staff for education sector’

Kathmandu, July 20

The Development Committee of the Parliament today directed the government to manage employees required for the education sector in local levels.

Citing the possible negative impacts on school education the committee instructed the ministries of education, general administration, and federal and local development to deploy employees for the education sector in local levels.  The ministries have also been directed to form a joint task force to deploy employees for the education sector.

Similarly, the committee instructed concerned ministries to formulate necessary education policy, procedure and action plan to manage public schools. The committee also urged the ministries to manage school textbooks on time and improve the quality

of education.

Secretary at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said the centre did not have any authority over the education sector in local levels.

Acting secretary at the Ministry of Education Surya Prasad Gautam stressed on coordination among concerned bodies to effectively manage school education.
