Maoist Centre sets criteria for new ministers

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Central Office of the CPN Maoist Centre today has set the criteria for ministers to be represented from the party in the new government likely to be formed under its Chairman, Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

The criteria were made on the basis of proportional and inclusive representation, said party spokesperson Pampha Bhusal.

The party is in a bid to form the new government under its leadership after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned from the post on Sunday.

Bhusal added that the list of the leaders to be incorporated as the ministers would be finalised on the basis of the criteria. The meeting also discussed the latest political development and the issues related to developing coalition with other parties including the Nepali Congress.

The party would make additional decision after reaching an agreement with the NC regarding the coalition and the priority of the new government, it is learnt.

Similarly, the party has formed a two-member task force to finalise the priority and performance of the new government.

The taskforce comprises Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Barsha Man Pun. Likewise, Bimalendra Nidhi and Ramesh Lekhak are the task force members from the NC side.
