Melody King Narayan Gopal remembered

KATHMANDU: Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun today has said the voice of Swarsamrat (Melody King) Narayan Gopal Guruwacharya continues to touch the heart of entire Nepali populace even today.

The Vice-President said so while launching a book entitled 'Narayan Gopalko Sworlipi' at a function organised jointly by the Nepal Art and Culture Development Centre and the Voice Art Academy in the Capital on the occasion of 26th death anniversary of the legendary singer.

He viewed that the recent creation would help internationalise songs of Narayan Gopal.

"Immortal songs of Narayan Gopal have established him as an eternal star in Nepali music. His contribution to the music sector has played a significant role in warding off western influence on our culture and music," he said.

Likewise, on the occasion, chairman of the centre Nawaraj Lama, also author of the book, said the book would be beneficial for those wanting to learn music.

The book consists of notations of 20 everlasting songs sung by Narayan Gopal.
