Metropolitan Police rejects complaint filed against ex-CJ Parajuli

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Circle did not register a complaint filed against former Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli.

On Monday, a complaint had been filed by a journalist, Madan Bhandari, against former Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli at the Circle claiming irregularities in Parajuli's citizenship and educational certificates.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Thapa, the Circle could not register the complaint since this case does not fall under their jurisdiction.

"This case is under study with higher authorities like the Supreme Court and even the Judicial Council. As long as they order us to look into the case, we would be breaching our jurisdiction'.

Bhandari, a resident of Gulmi, had filed the complaint stating that the former CJ has corrected his date of birth in his citizenship and his educational certificates have been forged, demanding investigation into the legal documents, according to DSP Thapa,
