KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is doing homework to begin air services with Australia and Cambodia.

Joint Secretary at the Ministry, Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane, said that talks were going on with the representatives of both the countries to sign agreements for direct flights there.

So far, Nepal has signed air service agreements with only 38 countries.

Nepal could not give continuity to the international flights in many destinations as some planes of Nepal Airlines Corporation's were left grounded for long.

NAC had its flights in some European countries in the past while the service to the European nations has been affected due to the paucity of aircrafts.

Currently, NAC has its regular flights to India, UAE, Qatar, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Lamichhane added that regular flights have not taken places in the expected destinations for lack of the management of skilled human resources though the aircrafts were brought from China.
