More fuel than market demand: NOC

Kathmandu, October 15

Nepal Oil Corporation today said that fuel had been supplied to the market in adequate quantity so as to prevent shortage in the market during the festival period.

According to the NOC’s Thankot Depot, fuel has been provided as per the demand placed by petrol stations in Kathmandu Valley.

Chief engineer at the depot, Bharat Regmi said that 1,150,000 litres petrol and 750,000 litres diesel had been supplied to various petrol pumps in the Valley today.

The depot had supplied adequate quantity of fuel in the market today as well. Around 1,038,000 litres petrol and 1,029,000 litres diesel was supplied to various petrol stations in the Valley yesterday, it is stated.

Regmi said there would be no shortage of fuel under any circumstances as the quantity demanded by petrol stations had been supplied.

Regarding the queue of vehicles seen at some petrol stations, he said this may be because vehicles exiting Kathmandu Valley.
