Music Art Gallery to exhibit "Ages of Paintings-II"

KATHMANDU: Music Art Gallery, a humble retreat at Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur, is set to showcase the 2nd edition of Ages of Paintings.

Starting from September 29, 2018 at 3:00 pm, the gallery will showcase works of artists who differ not only in ages but also in perspectives that they have conversed through and stroked in their art.

Through centuries, Nepal has seen various art forms — stone art, wood art, wall art and paintings — to name a few, as the gallery suggests, “Although Nepal has a relatively smaller art market, some of the best and finest artists in the world canvas their imaginations here.” And out of those finest, the gallery has decided to showcase paintings of few honourable senior and young artists.

The gallery will exhibit works of veteran artist Krishna Manandhar known for his compositions of foil-ages in trees and landscapes, Shyam Lal Shrestha for his socio-cultural art, KK Karmacharya and Ashok Man Singh for their illustrations, and Manish Lal Shrestha acclaimed for creative visuals, among others.

According to the Art Gallery Manager Sagar KC, the event intends to promote Nepali art as much as possible by exposing works of artists with decades of experience.

Likewise, the gallery will also display art by Bidhata KC known for her paintings of leaves, Mukesh Shrestha for his socio-political art and contemporary spin to traditional Paubha art, and Krishna Gopal Shrestha’s illustrations in media.

The exhibition will last for 15 days starting from September 29 to October 12, 2018.
