Musical instruments worth Rs 2 lakh gutted in Dakshinkali temple fire

KATHMANDU: Property worth around Rs 200,000 were gutted in a fire at a temple in Dakshinkali Municipality-6 of Katmandu district on Monday night, police said.

According to police, the fire destroyed the musical instruments belonging to the religious singers housed in the Ugrachandi Bhagwati Temple in Jhankeswari last night.

Police with the help of locals doused the fire.

The preliminary investigation points to electric short-circuit as the cause of the blaze, said police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the incident is under way, said police.
